#RefugeesWelcomeATX

MRC gathered with our community at Saint John's United Methodist Church for Austin's Interfaith Vigil for Refugees

We heard stories from refugee leaders like Pastor Dieudonne Kinyamahanga and Iraqi Refugee and UT Graduate, Tiba Al Khafaji (pictured above) who inspired us to remember the dignity and resilience of our refugee neighbors.

Thank you to Refugee Council USA for hosting such a moving evening and to our local partners that came in support of welcoming refugees. We're feeling especially inspired this month by the welcoming spirit demonstrated by fellow Texans. MRC will continue to stand beside our refugee staff and advocate for not only their right to be in Texas, but also the right to safe, dignified livelihoods.
