New Leaf Brings the Farm to the Classroom

New Leaf Agriculture has joined hands with Sustainable Food Center’s Farm to School initiative in becoming a farm partner for Elgin ISD!

Sustainable Food Center’s Farm to School program brings produce from local farms into cafeteria meals and provides students with hands-on learning related to food, health, agriculture and nutrition. Through veggie samplings, farmer visits and interactive educational initiatives, the Farm to School program is igniting students’ excitement about their own plates and helping healthy habits take root early.

I think the power of a CSA is best on display when the farm is able to reciprocate that support for its own surrounding community. We’re proud and honored to be a part of providing nutritious food for the next generation.
— Matt Simon, Farm Director

We couldn’t be more proud to be a part of this growing community, providing nutritious, seasonal veggies, such as squash and cucumbers and broccoli, to the trays of school lunches for Elgin ISD students each week.
